What Is CamScore (For MFC Models)

CamScore is an automatic score that is calculated for all MyFreeCams.com models based on their performance on the site.

Explanation
When a new visitor arrives at MyFreeCams.com, thousands of online models need to be presented in some kind of default order, until the new visitor has a chance to select their own preference. Unfortunately, finding an order that is satisfactory for everyone is a more difficult task than it may seem.

For example, if the default order was alphabetical, models whose username began with “A” would have an unfair advantage. If the default order put new models first, then that would disadvantage experienced models, and vice versa. And if the default order was completely random, it would be confusing for members and would not reward successful models.

Importance Note
CamScore is not particularly important when it comes to members discovering specific models that they like because MFC provides many options to members:

Friends are always shown in the personal menu and at the top of the model list.
Search looks at model Usernames, Model Tags, Room Topics, and the News Feed.
Models You May Like shows recommended models by default, ahead of the normal model list.

Custom Selections allow users to select models based on their own custom preferences.
Most Popular Rooms and Trending Rooms are featured throughout the site.
Model Explorer allows members to find models based on shared interests.
Word of Mouth around the site and in the various Lounges and Member Rooms is very effective at getting models noticed. Also, members can easily change their Model List Preferences to use a different sorting method besides CamScore.

Hiding CamScore
Models can choose that their CamScore not be displayed on the website or their profile by changing the setting in the “Model Settings” portion of their Model Admin.

Calculation
CamScore is a calculated based the model’s token earnings on the site over some period of time. The same algorithm is used for all models.

New Models
New models start with a default CamScore of 1000, but it will change quickly based on their actual performance on the site. Most models have a CamScore below 1000 so in most cases new models will see their CamScore decrease in their first few days on the site.

Median CamScore
The median CamScore is approximately 600. That means about half of the models on the site have a CamScore greater than 600, and half have a CamScore below 600. Any CamScore over 600 means that model is doing better than most! (Note: Many models outside of the USA have very low CamScores due to the lower interest in the from members, naturally this artificially lowers the sites average, an average CamScore for a US model should be around 1200)

Update Frequency
CamScore is updated throughout the day, but only for models that have logged in to the website since the last time it was calculated.

Raising CamScore
Since CamScore is calculated based on a model’s token earnings, the only way to raise it is for the models to earn more tokens.

As a model earns more tokens, she will see her CamScore rise quickly. The lower the CamScore she starts at, the faster it will increase.

Sudden Changes in CamScore
CamScore is calculated based on a model’s token earnings over a certain period of time.

Let’s say, for example, that period of time is 60 days. That would mean that each new day, what the model did 61 days ago would no longer be counted. Therefore, if the model earned a huge number of tokens 61 days ago, then it would be expected for her CamScore to drop since those tokens would no longer be included in the calculation.

If a model earns a lot of tokens, then that performance should be reflected in the next CamScore calculation within several hours.

Additional Facts
All tokens help CamScore, including 1 token tips.
All tokens count the same whether from Tips, Privates, Offline, etc.
There is nothing that a member can do to lower your CamScore.
Profile Ratings and Admires do not help CamScore.
The lower the CamScore, the easier it is to increase it.
Being in “Away” mode does not influence CamScore.

Just being logged in on MFC does not influence on your CamScore. Using XMPP also has no effect.

There is no way for MFC to manually change your CamScore. (Even if they did, it would get updated with the accurate number in a few minutes.)

End Notes
Keep in mind, the higher your camscore the better ranked you’ll be, which means the more potential attention you will gain from members. This means you also increase your potential to earn money with a higher camscore. The lower your camscore, the lower your rank, which means a lower potential to earn. For these reasons a model should always be mindful of her camscore, never sit around waiting for magic to happen if a night is slow since you’re only hurting your camscore and reducing your chances of success down the road.

“My Cam Scores Dropping, I’m Not Making As Much Money As I Was, What Do I Do?”

Rather you’re a new model that lost hew new model tag, or an experienced model who’s just down on her luck, this article is designed to give you a good framework for building up your business or getting it back into shape.

The principles are simple, first build essential infrastructure, then branch into the exteriors.

Let’s start with essential infrastructure, or the things every cam model should have from day one. To be successful with camming, you’re going to want to have several things in hand to open up communications and business with clients off site. Key examples would be a work E-mail, Snapchat, Skype, and Twitter.

These key examples are crucial because of the nature the cam industry is going in. In previous years the cam industry was all about working a live stream and bringing in the tokens, this was done through tips, countdowns, groups, private chats etc. However, in the past year, with the explosion in Snapchat modeling and video sharing sites (like MFC share) the industry has seen a major shift towards on demand content. This makes sense, because let’s be honest with ourselves, what’s easier and more appealing to a client, surfing room after room hoping to land a decent performance or dropping a video request or custom snap video tailored to your interests? With the advent of MFC-Share coupled with an expansion of Manyvids, the direct to consumer video model has overtaken the old strategy of hustling in room.

Enter the essential infrastructure mentioned above. With skype and snapchat you can do direct to client performances. With email and twitter you can instantly communicate with clients when not on site. Twitter also serves as a free marketing tool as there is a sub-culture on twitter of cam model followers. So by using twitter you can not only communicate with your followers/clients, you can also land new ones through the twittersphere.

Once you have the essentials in place then you can start to build off them. As mentioned you want to have a twitter for a social media presence and as a means to communicate with fans and grow your fan-base. Also, you should grow and develop your Snapchat base, Snapchat is a great means of free advertisement, as once you have clients added you can post to your story to gain their attention when you’re ready for cam or to bring them back your way should they move on to another model. Snapchat can also be used for recorded performances such as a quick boy/girl oral-show or short masturbation scene.

Along with the above social media, a lot of models also use dating apps as a means of free advertisement. Think of it for a moment, where else can a girl encounter millions of horny single men looking to get off? Tinder, Bumble, OKCupid. Use such sites to your advantage to reach out to men that find you attractive and offer them your services. While many may lose interest since you’re only looking for business, some may enjoy the opportunity to get to know you and enjoy the performances/content that you have to offer.

Speaking of content, that is also another consideration you need to make. As mentioned above the cam industry has shifted towards a direct to client content model. Meaning videos and other content mediums are the best ways for models to earn income. As a model you should find a way to record yourself using your laptop/webcam or smartphone. All models should make a variety of videos to sell at various prices.

Throughout this piece so far I have eluded to the need for a model to develop her client base, another important fact to keep in mind is the use of Skype performances. Many models shy away from Skype performances as there is a chance for being scammed. However, with taking the proper steps a model can easily protect herself from such occurrences. Many clients prefer Skype because it is more intimate then an on site performances. Also, Skype allows for clients and models to negotiate their own prices. Such an advantage should be capitalized on by models. Even more so is that Skype clients tend to be repeat clients, so keep track of who you Skype with, as they can be the core of your income.

So far I’ve mentioned several foundational pieces of advice for new and struggling models. But before all the above mentioned tricks the most important for a model to use is good customer relations skills. As someone who trains models customer relations skills is always something that I stressed. Ultimately as a cam model you are your own business. Imagine patronizing a business that did not appreciate you as a customer, or who showed a lack of care in the services they offered towards you. Would you as an individual continue to support such a business? Certainly not! Likewise that is how you should think when considering you clients or potential clients. Treat everyone you encounter with respect, remember, you’re just one of thousands of other girls looking for work and that client can easily look towards another model to patronize. As with anything a good attitude, an ounce of respect, and please and thank you go a long way.

Often when putting together a price set or just in casual conversation with models the studio will mention the need for games to play when in room. We often get asked about games, how to play them, what to charge, what to do for prizes, etc. This post will be about the structure of different games to play with some ideas for prizes.

So the first game every model should have is a prize wheel. Prize wheels are simple and you can either buy a generic wheel off of Amazon or download the app whirligig from the apple app store. I prefer the app as you can add an unlimited amount of prize to it which allows for more as opposed to a physical wheel.

Another game I often recommend is a prize board. These are physical poster boards (think the kind you used for science experiments in grammar school) with post it notes on them. On the front side of the post it notes, number each note 1-25, or 1-50, or even 1-100 depending on the size of the board. On the back of the notes you write the prize for each note. To play, members tip the amount shown on the post it note to reveal the prize.You will want to have a separate board or space to place the notes after revealing the prize. After the board is clear you can consider doing a public show in reward for finishing the game. * A note to new or developing models, I would recommend doing a lower amount like 1-25 if you try doing this game.

If you are a fan of cards, there are several games you can play with a basic deck of cards. You can play games like black-jack or hi/low and offer simple teases or flashes as prizes.

A model can also make a simple game out of rolling dice and a prize list written out on a white board or paper.

Some models with large followings play more sophisticated games like Jenga.

There are several more games that can be played while camming. All it takes is a little creativity on the models part and just about any game can be profitable. One important thing to keep in mind though, games tend to be more successful if you have a base following who aggregates in your room that will play the game. Also, be strategic with your prizes and prices. You as a model should plan out the games with the risk/prize ration being just right to encourage the gamble on behalf of the members.
